Chemistry: Raymond Chang 

I will provide a free digital version of each chapter in the textbook that focuses on the material relevant to the AP® Chemistry exam. 

If you would like a hardcopy, you can purchase Raymond Chang's Chemistry textbook. Any edition from the 5th to the 13th edition will work. Also, any edition of Chang's Chemistry: Essential Concepts can be used as well. You should be able to find a textbook for under $50. Just do a search for "Raymond Chang Chemistry textbook". 

 
For this course, you do not need to purchase supplemental materials such as CDs, study guides, workbooks, solutions manuals, or review books.  

During the first week of class (orientation), I will give you more information so that you don't have any doubts about what to get. For example, the "study planner" doesn't have to be anything fancy -- just something to schedule your time.

Starting with the 2024-2025 school year, the College Board has included the free Desmos online calculator in the AP Chemistry exam, and it will be built into the 2026 exam as well. So, you will not need to purchase a calculator for my AP Chemistry course.

Some of you might already be using the Desmos calculator if you are a STEM student studying for the 2025 AP Exam or the SAT test. If not, don't worry. We will be using the College Board Desmos graphing calculator throughout the school year. So, you will be proficient in using it on exam day. I've been working with the Desmos calculator and am impressed with its special features and ease of use. 

I think you are really going to like the Desmos calculator, but if you think you might prefer a physical calculator, I recommend that you not purchase one now. Let’s wait for the College Board to announce it’s calculator policy for the 2026 exam.
