TUITION: $195
My prep course begins on Monday, July 28, 2025, and ends on Friday, August 22, 2025.
While not required for success in my AP Chemistry course, my 4-week AP Chemistry Prep course provides an instructive and engaging introduction to AP Chemistry, perfect for students who want to get an early start in their learning of the AP Chemistry topics, while building their confidence before starting AP Chemistry.
My prep course is designed to be flexible and student friendly. It follows an asynchronous format, with all materials available from the start, allowing you to learn at your own pace. While the posted schedule runs from July 28 to August 22, you’re welcome to work ahead and complete the course earlier if you'd like.
You will not need to purchase any supplies for the Prep course.
You will watch eight 1-hour video lectures that cover the course topics. Each video has a timeline so you can easily go back and rewatch segments or fast-forward to skip parts you already understand. You can have a classroom “lecture” experience on your schedule rather than having to be present for a live lecture. Many of the videos have lab demonstrations that make the chemistry topic come alive. This video above is a short clip from the first lesson.
My prep course covers the first four units of the AP Chemistry curriculum in a simplified, clear, and
easy-to-follow format making complex concepts easier to grasp.
In AP Chemistry, each topic builds on the previous topic. Therefore, each video lecture includes interactive review exercises and an associated unit summary (PDF) so that you can be confident that you understand the material before moving on to the next topic.
I deliver my AP Chemistry Prep course using Cengage’s WebAssign learning platform. When you log in to WebAssign, you will be able to go to all the unit summaries, practice exercises, lectures/demonstrations, and the discussion board. As you answer the WebAssign questions, you will get immediate feedback on whether your answer is correct. The exercises are designed to allow you to practice as you are learning.
The College Board administers a digital-hybrid AP Chemistry exam. My WebAssign platform delivers the interactive practice exercises in the same format as the College Board Bluebook. This means that when you begin my AP Chemistry course, you'll already be familiar with the
digital-hybrid AP exam.
The College Board includes the
Desmos online calculator in the AP Chemistry exam. My AP Chemistry Prep course will give you an opportunity to get aquainted with the Desmos online calculator. However, if you would prefer to use your physical calculator, that's fine too!
You will always be able to get personalized help using my Discussion Board, a private virtual classroom, which is available 24/7. With its multi-media capabilities, I use graphs, images, diagrams, videos, and links to other helpful resources to give you detailed answers to your questions. I monitor the discussion board throughout the day, five days a week to make sure your questions are answered promptly.
IMPORTANT! When making your payment, please type the student's full name in the "Notes" field on the payment screen. Otherwise, we won't know the student's name since the payer name is typically a parent or guardian.
AFTER you have paid the tuition, submit the Student Information Form. You will receive a confirmation email after you submit the form.
We cannot complete your enrollment until we receive the Student Information Form. So, please be sure to complete this important step.
