Teaching chemistry has been my life-long passion, and I love sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. As a dedicated caring teacher, I’m committed to delivering a rigorous course that prepares students to excel on the AP® Chemistry Exam while also preparing them for success in college chemistry and beyond. I have taught thousands of students over the years and have watched their successes in both their academic and professional lives. Even though AP Chemistry is challenging, I work hard to make my lessons engaging, interactive and fun. I take immense pleasure in helping my students master and, at the same time, experience the wonder and joy of chemistry.
I am a State of Michigan certified chemistry teacher who taught Honors and AP Chemistry for over 35 years at a top-ranked public school. I have been teaching AP Chemistry with Pennsylvania Homeschoolers for the past 17 years. I received a BS in Science and a Master of Science Education degree at Wayne State University and have worked at numerous National Science Foundation teacher programs. As part of my Master's program, I worked with the Fairleigh Dickinson University Lab in St Croix monitoring coral reef oxygen respiration rates. I was sponsored by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Princeton. While working for the National Science Foundation's Project Seraphim, I led workshops for chemistry teachers around the country, developed computer software applications for chemistry education, and hosted the International Internet Conference, CHYMNET, for chemistry educators. I have served as editor for the Journal of Chemical Education and I have served as a reviewer for Cengage’s WebAssign® chemistry question database. I am a major contributor to and group expert on the AP Chemistry Teacher Forum. Over the years, many of my students have been award winners in ACS Chemistry Olympiad competitions.
In 2003, I was recognized as an inspiring, distinguished teacher, and received the prestigious Presidential Scholars Teacher Recognition Award. This honor is awarded to only one hundred teachers in the United States each year. At the reception, held in Washington, D.C., I had the honor of dining with Mrs. Bush, the First Lady.
MARY ANN
I'm Mary Ann, Mr. Moskaluk's wife, and I handle all the many "behind the scenes" tasks required to keep his AP Chemistry course running smoothly. I truly enjoy my interactions with students and parents and respond quickly to any administrative questions. This allows Mr. Moskaluk to focus 100% of his time staying on top of the ever-evolving AP® Chemistry curriculum, teaching his class, answering student questions on the discussion board, recording instructional videos, and designing new labs. Mr. Moskaluk and I are proud of our students for their exceptional performance on the AP® Chemistry Exam year after year! For the past 17 years, Mr Moskaluk’s students have consistently outperformed the global scores by a wide margin. I’d like to think that I have contributed to the success of the course by making sure that Mr. Moskaluk can devote all his time to teaching our wonderful students.
